this was posted in the Australian Cops are using unmarked bikes article by Cesariojpn, I thought I'd share it with you guys as it'll give you non-UK folk idea of UK policing and to boot this episode focuses on Sussex Police, which are my local cops. Featured are unmarked bikes, immigrants, the world's stupidest cyclist and road safety.

I remember that episode well.
The thing with our police in the most part is if you're calm and fair with them then they are with you. If you start getting 'mouthy' then that's when things escalate so talk to them, explain your side of events. If you feel you haven't been treated fairly then calmly ask for their number and seek advice from a senior officer or solicitor, doing it at the side of the road will get you nowhere.
Saying that, when the film crew came up my neck of the woods my former Superintendent was a bit of a 'd1ck' to a woman who was taking her parents home after her parents had been drinking one evening, but he is a total d1ck anyway. You know the sort, head so far up his ar5e he has a permanent bad back.

Ye', means to an end. Either quickly Duct tape it to the exhaust till you can get somewhere to sort it out properly or sit at the side of the Dual Carriageway for a while longer while the film crew stand about and watch on.

it looked that way, but I imagine there was a plastic shroud round it because the plate mounted there previously.

Our police are largely down to earth and reasonable in my experience. Of course I've encountered the odd idiot once in a while but thats guna happen in any profession.
